Statement on Institutional Accreditation
The Centro de Estudios Avanzados de Puerto Rico y El Caribe is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) (www.msche.org). The institution’s accreditation status is Non-Compliance Show Cause. The Commission’s most recent action on March 12, 2026, was to require the institution to show cause.
MSCHE is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to conduct accreditation and pre-accreditation (candidate status) activities for institutions of higher education, including distance, correspondence education, and direct assessment programs. The Commission’s geographic area of accrediting activities is throughout the United States.
On March 12, 2026, MSCHE required the institution to continue in show cause status and to submit a follow-up report, due August 3, 2026, demonstrating that the institution has achieved and can sustain compliance with the Commission’s standards, including Standard II (Ethics and Integrity), Standard VI (Planning, Resources, and Institutional Improvement), and Standard VII (Governance, Leadership, and Administration).
The CEAPRC administration and its Board of Trustees are actively working to address all requirements and to demonstrate sustained compliance with MSCHE standards.
